Queersulting
Offering presentations and education opportunities on a wide range of 2SLGBTQIA+ topics and issues, with the goal of promoting safety and inclusion in workplaces and practice.
Who is Queersulting?
Ian Brown (they/them)
Hi! I’m Ian, and I am a queer and trans masculine human residing in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta) in Treaty 6 Territory.
I have been doing formal and informal queer and trans education work since coming out over a decade ago, and have worked with multiple non-profit organizations before setting out to do independent education and consultation.
My work has ranged from broad topics of introduction to 2SLGBTQIA+ community and issues, to specialized work in best practices with transgender and gender diverse youth, and a wide spectrum in-between!
Queersulting came about due to my passion for 2SLGBTQIA+ consultation and education, and the immense joy that doing this work has always brought me. Being able to support my community by bringing awareness and information about 2SLGBTQIA+ communities is one of my absolute favourite things to do.
As a youth worker, I’ve worked in a variety of environments- including transitional housing, outreach programs, schools, and community drop-in centres. My work has helped me meet many different people, with many different backgrounds, and learn about how best to meet people where they are at in order to promote learning and understanding.
